T&E Habitat Delineations

Several years ago PAEP sponsored a Bog Turtle Habitat Surveyor 101 Training program. Does anyone feel a need to have specialized training and if so what type and by whom?

While the Bog Turtle Habitat Evaluation training appeared to be a good idea that addressed a need at the time, the FWS and PaFBC have decided that those of us that were trained at that session are not reliable enough evaluators of bog turtle habitat. So, as of about a year ago, all Phase 1 Bog Turtle Habitat Evaluations must again be performed by a registered bog turtle expert. So there are probably limits as to what sort of training would be ultimately useful.

This might be something to keep in mind when proposing additional training seminars.
