Environmental Science Scholarships
PAEP is excited to announce a third student scholarship this year! This new scholarship is focused on underrepresented students and provided in honor of Zulene Mayfield, environmental justice activist and leader of the Chester Residents Concerned for Quality Living (CRCQL). Zulene has spearheaded local efforts to curb the Covanta trash incinerator pollution generated from its operation. See more about Zulene’s efforts at https://chesterpaej.org. PAEP is now accepting 2023 scholarship applications for the categories listed below:
- Gifford Pinchot Scholarship open to Freshmen and Sophomores. Click the links below for information and forms.
- Maurice Goddard Scholarship open to Juniors and Seniors. Click the links below for information and forms.
- Zulene Mayfield Scholarship is open to students enrolled in a full-time school of higher education in a program leading to a degree in environmental science or related major. The applicant must be a member of an underrepresented group in the environmental sciences.
Scholarships awards are dependent on the candidate meeting the eligibility requirements listed on the Application Instructions and evaluation by the PAEP Scholarship Committee.
Each winner will receive a $1,500 check.
